Bitcoin’s July Reset: Searching for a Floor Near $58,000

July 1, 2026 · Crypto News · By Stock Golden Expert

June was bitcoin’s worst month since the last bear market, and July opened with a final flush.

The token touched $57,748 on Wednesday — the lowest price since March — before stabilizing near $60,000. From the May peak of $82,792, bitcoin has now fallen 30%, a full-scale drawdown that has erased the spring euphoria and, importantly, much of the leverage that built it.

The silver linings, seriously

Liquidation cascades end when the leverage is gone, and the data says it’s largely gone: futures open interest has fallen by more than half since May, funding rates are neutral, and the options market is pricing calm rather than panic. Spot holders — the long-term cohort — barely sold during the entire decline, which is why the price is stabilizing rather than free-falling.

Meanwhile, the structural bid hasn’t disappeared. ETF flows, while slower, remain positive on a month-to-month basis, and the institutional infrastructure narrative (custody, clearing, tokenization) continued advancing through the selloff. Crashes driven by leverage wash out in weeks; crashes driven by thesis damage take years. This is the first kind.

The roadmap

$57,700 is the line. Above it, the base-building process can begin — slowly, with $64,000 as the first recovery milestone and $70,500 as trend-repair. Below it, $54,000 and then $50,000 come into play, and the “new bull market” narrative goes on ice.

Crypto’s history is unambiguous: the best risk-reward in this asset has always come when the leverage tourists have gone home. They appear to be packing.
